Start with a clean capture
Use even light, strong contrast, and enough resolution to preserve thin strokes. Avoid shadows from the phone and check that the complete signature sits inside the image.
Trim, fit, and choose a background
Trimming border-like whitespace gives the strokes more room in a small output. Contain preserves the signature shape. PNG can keep transparency; JPEG needs a solid background, usually matching the form.
Verify pixels and bytes separately
A signature can have the correct width and height but still exceed the KB cap. Confirm both values in the result card and open the downloaded copy to check that thin lines remain continuous.
